Arthur Morgan –
This gun is absolutely breathtaking! And the service from the staff was excellent – friendly, informed, zero sales pressure. This sort of service, and this sort of item, are testament to the need for physical shops in addition to online sales – you simply cannot get a proper appreciation for this gun unless you see it, feel it and hear it: I defy you to keep a straight face the first time you hear the made-famous-by-movies ‘click click click’ as you cock the hammer of this gun. You will be grinning from ear to ear!
Do note that the blued version looks totally different in person than in the photos. Up close it is much bluer and more shiny. Like glossy metal. Depending on your tastes, you will either love it or hate it, but you cannot really know in advance by looking at photos online. Personally, I went for the nickel version.
The fact that this gun is made with Colt’s blessing – almost exact in size, weight and weight distribution – with an authentic loading (and unloading) mechanism, elevates the whole shooting experience beyond mere gunplay and imbues it with a touch of elegance and class. It leaves you feeling tenuously connected to the era in a way that a gun which merely looks the part, or is not officially licenced, would not.
My only criticism is that the resting position of the hammer is not flush as in real Colt SAA revolvers. I would whole heartedly recommend this gun to anyone with even a passing interest in Americana, be it the historical Wild West, or movies/TV/games of the same.
